Coronavirus (COVID-19) update for Pathways Fertility patients

Pathways Fertility is actively monitoring all developments related to COVID-19. As always, our top priority is the health and safety of our patients and staff. We are utilizing all guidance available from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Georgia Department of Health to institute safety precautions.
If you or anyone in your household is currently exhibiting flu-like symptoms (cold, fever, cough, and/or shortness of breath), please seek treatment from your primary care provider. Additionally, please call our office at (404) 228-7199 before coming to our facility to determine how best to proceed.
IVF, IUI, FET, egg freezing, frozen donor egg cycles
Pathways Fertility has initiated a safe and controlled re-start of most treatment cycles. Patients undergoing the following types of cycles may be able to begin treatment at the onset of next menses:
- IVF for embryo creation (freeze all, PGS).
- Egg freezing.
- Intrauterine insemination (IUI).
- Frozen embryo transfer (FET).
- Frozen donor egg cycles.
To protect the safety of our patients and staff, we are observing many social distancing measures onsite. Due to this, we are implementing a gradual re-start of treatment cycles to regulate the number of individuals onsite each day. Therefore, we are limited on the number of patients who may start a treatment cycle on any specific date.
Many of our patients who experienced a cycle disruption due to COVID-19 may have already spoken with our patient care coordination team about cycle start timing. If you have not yet spoken to your coordinator, and you wish to initiate one of the above cycle types within the next two (2) months, please contact Pathways Fertility at (404) 228-7199. Our team will review your protocol, medications, pre-cycle checklist, insurance and authorization. You will also speak with a nurse to assess your current health and identify any final updates required for your pre-cycle checklist.

Morning monitoring appointments required during COVID-19
We will offer morning monitoring from 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at our office, located at 3193 Howell Mill Rd. NW, Unit 214. Please note: Appointments are required for morning monitoring. Appointments will be issued by the nursing team.
This is an important change to our prior “walk-in” policy. In order to reduce the number of individuals in our waiting areas, each patient will receive an appointment for morning monitoring. To protect the safety of our patients and our team, patients will only be allowed to enter the center during their scheduled appointment. Please see below for all onsite safety protocols.

Please be advised of the following updates to Pathways Fertility operations.
Patients are required to wear masks while onsite
In compliance with CDC recommendations, all individuals at Pathways Fertility (MFS) will be required to wear face masks while onsite.
All patients will need to wear a face mask or facial protection that covers both mouth and nose in order to enter the facility. MFS will not provide a face mask – each patient is responsible for obtaining his or her own face mask. If a patient cannot secure a medical-grade face mask, the following are acceptable face protection options: any bandana, scarf or handmade mask that fully covers the mouth and nose.
Pathways Fertility will continue our guest limitation policy
In observance of social distancing and to minimize the number of individuals onsite, only the scheduled patient will be admitted to the facility. All patients visiting the center for morning monitoring, bloodwork or imaging scans must attend without any visitors present. Children are not permitted onsite. We apologize for any inconvenience. However, we are committed to protecting the safety of our patients and staff by limiting the number of individuals in our space during COVID-19.
All patients will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms at entry
To protect our patients, our staff, and our current (and future) families, every individual entering our Center will be required to pass a temperature screening and will be screened for COVID-19 related symptoms. We regret the necessity of this intrusion upon your time.
Cycle disruption policy
If an individual demonstrates symptoms of COVID-19 during a treatment cycle, or if the individual is mid-cycle and tests positive for COVID-19, the cycle will be cancelled or suspended.
If this cancellation or suspension occurs prior to retrieval, we will issue a credit balance in accordance with services rendered during the cycle. Credit balances will be established on a case-by-case basis. We are not able to extend credit toward products or services provided by third parties (these include but are not limited to medications, phlebotomy, anesthesia, genetic testing, tissue storage fees, etc.).
New patient consults
Pathways Fertility will utilize telehealth solutions to fully enable all new patient consults.
